Cover letter
Dear Fivetran Hiring Team,
Fivetran's mission — making data access as simple and reliable as electricity — is one of the clearest value propositions in the data infrastructure space, and it resonates with me directly. I spent three years at Intuit as a Staff Product Manager owning developer-facing platform infrastructure where the core challenge was identical: make it trivially easy for engineers and analysts to get to the data they need, in the shape they need it, without friction. That experience, combined with my background building data pipelines and AI-powered analytics products from scratch, is what draws me to this role.
**Technical and Data Foundation**
My technical credibility in data products runs deep. At Intuit, I worked closely with telemetry and usage data in SQL and BigQuery to prioritize developer pain points across approximately 20 mobile apps and 30+ product SKUs. I built Asterias, a declarative asset lifecycle management platform with a GraphQL API, and led an enterprise-wide Service Language Assessment across nine languages — analyzing usage data and developer feedback to inform strategic investment decisions presented to the CTO. I also delivered the ICE Self-Service platform, which scaled to 675M+ engagements in FY23 across QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mint, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma, and drove 275% YoY growth in ICE engagements.
On the data pipeline and schema side, I architected a RAG retrieval pipeline at Fintellect AI with a ChromaDB vector store, multi-provider LLM orchestration with fallback routing, structured output validation, and token budget optimization — all in service of delivering clean, queryable financial data to end users. I understand what it means to design data schemas that analysts can actually use, not just schemas that are technically correct.
At Splunk, I owned Search Service (Go microservices), Search Catalog (a PostgreSQL metadata service), and Splunk Processing Language (SPL/SPL2) — products that sit squarely at the intersection of data access, query performance, and developer experience. I led a query performance optimization initiative that achieved up to 10x improvements in Splunk Cloud Services search for a beta enterprise customer.
**Why This Role**
Fivetran's connector portfolio is the connective tissue of the modern data stack — the layer that determines whether analysts spend their time querying clean, canonical data or wrestling with ingestion pipelines. The Product Manager, Integrations role sits at exactly that leverage point: owning a portfolio of connectors, designing schemas that drive analytical success, and using Revenue Weighted Usage as the guiding metric. That combination of customer empathy, data schema design, and measurable business impact is the kind of PM work I find most meaningful.
I am particularly drawn to the responsibility of learning what questions analysts are trying to answer and working backward to the right data sources and schemas. At Intuit, I did this continuously — using SQL and BigQuery to surface developer pain, then translating those signals into roadmap decisions that reduced onboarding from weeks to minutes. I want to apply that same discipline to Fivetran's SaaS connector portfolio.
**Selected Relevant Experience**
- **Intuit — ICE Self-Service Platform:** Delivered DevPortal, GitOps config, and ICE Playground, reducing developer onboarding from 2–3 weeks to minutes in pre-prod and under 24 hours for production, while mitigating $1M+ in projected opex growth.
- **Intuit — Telemetry and Usage Analysis:** Used SQL and BigQuery to prioritize developer pain points across ~20 mobile apps and 30+ product SKUs; built Asterias, a declarative asset lifecycle management platform with GraphQL API.
- **Intuit — SDK and Developer Tooling:** Extended Java and Python SDK Starter Kits with scaffolding templates, build configurations (Gradle/Maven), testing frameworks, and CI/CD integration — enabling developers to go from zero to production-ready microservice in minutes.
- **Splunk — Search Catalog and SPL Ownership:** Owned PostgreSQL-backed Search Catalog and Splunk Processing Language roadmap for Splunk Cloud Services; led query performance optimization achieving up to 10x improvements for enterprise beta customers.
- **Splunk — Scheduler Service Delivery:** Delivered Scheduler Service end-to-end in approximately four months, enabling scheduled search capabilities for first-party applications; demoed at Splunk .conf19.
- **Fintellect AI — Data Pipeline Architecture:** Architected RAG retrieval pipeline with ChromaDB vector store, multi-provider LLM orchestration (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini) with fallback routing, structured output validation, and token budget optimization.
- **Intuit — Mailchimp GCP-to-AWS Migration:** Led MSaaS migration delivering Golang template, MySQL persistence integration, and updated DevPortal documentation to meet production deadline.
**Closing**
Fivetran's vision of data arriving in warehouses canonical and ready to query — with no engineering or maintenance required — is the right abstraction for where the industry needs to go. I want to help build and grow the connector portfolio that makes that promise real for more organizations. I am based in Oakland, familiar with the hybrid model, and ready to contribute from day one.
Thank you for your consideration. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background aligns with what you are building.
Sincerely,
**O. Felix Amoruwa**
