Dear Chime AAX Hiring Team, Chime has built something genuinely rare in consumer finance: a product that millions of everyday Americans trust to manage their financial lives, not because they had to choose it, but because it earns that trust through clarity and simplicity. That mission — helping people understand their financial lives and take meaningful action — is one I've spent the last several years working toward from multiple angles, from building AI-powered financial education platforms to shipping personalized investing journeys on mobile. When I saw this role focused on Chime's Home experience and app-wide foundations, it mapped directly onto the kind of platform product work I find most meaningful. **Technical and Product Foundation** My product background is grounded in both the infrastructure layer and the member-facing surface. At Intuit, I owned the developer platform that powered QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mint, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma — a horizontal capability serving ~20 mobile apps and 30+ product SKUs. I drove 275% YoY growth in ICE engagements, scaling to 675M+ in FY23, and led the rSocket migration that took throughput from 6K to 50K TPS while supporting ~1.5M concurrent connections at sub-25ms TP99. That work required exactly the balance Chime's AAX role demands: maintaining platform coherence and reliability while giving product teams the flexibility to move fast. I also built the ICE Self-Service platform — DevPortal, GitOps config, ICE Playground — reducing developer onboarding from 2–3 weeks to under 24 hours in production, and I initiated the MSaaS Drift Detection program to keep shared infrastructure consistent at scale. On the consumer product side, I built and shipped Fintellect — a mobile-first AI financial-education and investing platform on iOS, Android, and Web — from prototype through App Store approval. The product includes a 13-step personalized onboarding, paper trading on a $100K virtual portfolio with live Alpaca market data, a RAG retrieval pipeline with multi-provider LLM orchestration (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini), and 13 specialized AI advisors delivering context-aware guidance. Designing a Home-equivalent experience for a financial product — one that surfaces what changed, what needs attention, and what to do next — is precisely what I built there. I also shipped Vantage, an AI job-search and interview-prep platform on iOS and macOS, which required unifying multiple pipeline flows (Plan/Pursue/Close), a native résumé editor, streaming agent chat, and per-role artifact generation into a single coherent app experience — the same kind of cross-surface coherence challenge that defines Chime's Home work. **Why This Role** The Chime AAX role sits at the intersection of the two types of product work I've done most: consumer-facing mobile experiences where comprehension and simplicity are the product, and horizontal platform infrastructure where adoption, consistency, and developer effectiveness are the metrics. Most PM roles optimize for one or the other. This one requires both simultaneously, and that's exactly the combination I've been building toward. What excites me most specifically is the design system and shared capabilities mandate. I've seen firsthand — at Intuit across 30+ SKUs — how fragmented component ownership creates inconsistency that degrades member trust over time, and how a well-adopted shared system creates compounding returns for both end users and engineering teams. The opportunity to shape how Chime's Home surface evolves into a personalized financial command center, while simultaneously building the patterns and tooling that let every product team contribute to that coherence, is a genuinely hard and important problem. **Selected Relevant Experience** - **Intuit ICE Platform:** Scaled shared developer platform to 675M+ engagements in FY23 across QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mint, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma; drove 275% YoY engagement growth while maintaining sub-25ms TP99 at 50K TPS. - **ICE Self-Service / DevPortal:** Delivered end-to-end self-service onboarding platform (DevPortal, GitOps config, ICE Playground), reducing developer onboarding from 2–3 weeks to under 24 hours in production and mitigating $1M+ in projected opex growth. - **Fintellect AI (iOS/Android/Web):** Built and shipped a mobile-first AI financial platform with personalized onboarding, paper trading on live market data, RAG-powered multi-provider LLM orchestration, and 13 specialized AI advisors — owned full 0-to-1 product strategy, AI development, and App Store go-to-market. - **Vantage (iOS/macOS):** Shipped a unified multi-surface app experience with streaming agent chat (SSE), native résumé editor, per-role artifact generation, and App Review–compliant monetization (Apple IAP + Superwall, Kinde OAuth + Apple Sign-In) — hardened for spotty-network UX via stale-while-revalidate caching and per-request aborts. - **Intuit Service Language Assessment:** Conducted enterprise-wide analysis across 9 languages and ~20 mobile apps, synthesizing usage data and developer feedback into strategic investment recommendations presented to the CTO — an example of translating cross-functional complexity into a clear, prioritized direction. - **MSaaS Drift Detection Program:** Initiated and led program to detect and remediate configuration drift across shared microservice infrastructure; wrote Java JAR library to scan Git repos, partnered with Design on DevPortal UI, and built remediation roadmap using OpenRewrite. - **Splunk Search Orchestration:** Owned Search Service (Go microservices), Search Catalog (PostgreSQL metadata service), and SPL/SPL2 roadmap for Splunk Cloud Services; delivered Scheduler Service end-to-end in ~4 months and achieved up to 10x query performance improvements for a Fortune 500 beta customer. **Closing** Chime's mission — helping everyday Americans unlock financial progress — is one I believe in, and it's one that gets harder to deliver as the product grows more complex. The Home experience is where that mission either lands or gets lost. I'd welcome the opportunity to bring my platform infrastructure experience, consumer mobile product background, and track record of driving cross-team adoption to help Chime build a Home that members genuinely understand and trust. Thank you for your consideration. --- **O. Felix Amoruwa** famoruwa@berkeley.edu · 909-731-9011 · felixamoruwa.info
