Dear Lyft Business Travel Hiring Team, Lyft's purpose — to serve and connect — is most tangible in the moments that matter most to people: getting to the airport on time, arriving at a client meeting without friction, making it home after a long day on the road. Business travel is where those moments concentrate, and where the stakes for reliability and trust are highest. My interest in this role is grounded in a decade of building the infrastructure and growth loops that sit underneath exactly these kinds of high-frequency, high-value user relationships — most directly at Intuit, where I owned the developer platform that scaled to 675M+ engagements across QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma. **Technical and Analytical Foundation** My product work has always been anchored in instrumentation, experimentation, and funnel discipline. At Intuit, I worked directly with telemetry and usage data in SQL and BigQuery to surface developer pain points across ~20 mobile apps and 30+ product SKUs, translating cohort behavior into prioritized roadmaps. I designed and shipped the ICE Self-Service platform — DevPortal, GitOps config, and ICE Playground — that compressed developer onboarding from 2–3 weeks to minutes in pre-production and under 24 hours for production. That is a growth and activation problem at its core: identify where users drop off, close the gap, and measure whether the change held. The 275% YoY growth in ICE engagements that followed was the proof. I also bring direct experience with the B2B2C motion that defines Business Travel at Lyft. At Intuit, I served two customers simultaneously: the individual developer who needed to ship quickly, and the enterprise organization that needed governance, compliance, and cost control. Balancing those two sets of incentives — and designing product surfaces that satisfied both without sacrificing either — is a skill I built over three years and across multiple platform launches. **Why This Role** The Business Travel opportunity at Lyft is structurally compelling because the two growth motions — individual business traveler and managed company account — are not in tension; they compound. A traveler who adopts Lyft for work becomes an advocate inside their organization. A company that standardizes on Lyft brings hundreds of high-frequency riders along with it. Designing the loops, partnerships, and integrations that make that compounding durable is exactly the kind of full-funnel, multi-stakeholder growth problem I find most interesting — and where my background is most directly applicable. **Role-Specific Connection** I am particularly drawn to the partnership and integration channel work described in the responsibilities. Building durable acquisition through third-party integrations — travel booking platforms, expense tools, corporate card programs — requires the same productization discipline I applied at Intuit when I led the Mailchimp GCP-to-AWS migration and built the MSaaS Drift Detection program: you have to make each new integration compound rather than restart from zero, which means investing in the abstraction layer and the measurement infrastructure before you scale the channel. I also see a direct parallel in the engagement and retention loop design: at Intuit, I implemented ICE Presence in async chat, which generated $480K/month in additional invoicing — a retention and re-engagement mechanic that worked because it was instrumented cleanly and tied to a defensible value moment for the user. **Selected Prior Experience** - Delivered ICE Self-Service platform (DevPortal, GitOps config, ICE Playground), reducing developer onboarding from 2–3 weeks to minutes in pre-prod and under 24 hours for production, while mitigating $1M+ in projected opex growth — a full-funnel activation problem solved through product, not headcount. - Achieved 275% YoY growth in ICE engagements, scaling to 675M+ in FY23 across QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mint, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma; scaled throughput from 6K to 50K TPS via rSocket migration supporting ~1.5M concurrent connections with sub-25ms TP99. - Implemented ICE Presence in async chat, generating $480K/month in additional invoicing; deployed Background-to-Foreground Messaging on iOS/Android with under 100ms latency — demonstrating the ability to design engagement mechanics that drive measurable revenue impact. - Conducted enterprise-wide Service Language Assessment across 9 languages, analyzing usage data and developer feedback to inform strategic investment decisions presented to the CTO — the kind of opportunity sizing and executive communication this role requires. - Led Mailchimp GCP-to-AWS migration for MSaaS, delivering Golang template, MySQL persistence integration, and updated DevPortal documentation to meet production deadline — cross-functional execution across engineering, design, and external partners under a hard deadline. - At Splunk, owned Search Service (Go microservices), Search Catalog (PostgreSQL metadata service), and SPL/SPL2, delivering Scheduler Service end-to-end in approximately four months and achieving up to 10x query performance improvements for a beta enterprise customer — demonstrating the ability to move fast on ambiguous, high-stakes platform problems. - At Fintellect AI, architected a RAG retrieval pipeline with ChromaDB, multi-provider LLM orchestration with fallback routing, and structured output validation — building the kind of integration and measurement infrastructure that makes a new channel durable rather than fragile. **Closing** Lyft's mission to change the way people live and move through their communities is most durable when the product earns habitual use — when a business traveler doesn't think twice about which app to open at the airport. That kind of default status is built through acquisition channels that are clean and measurable, onboarding flows that close drop-off before it becomes churn, and engagement loops that make the value self-evident. I have spent my career building exactly these systems, and I would welcome the opportunity to bring that experience to the Business Travel team. Thank you for your consideration. --- **O.
