Dear Chime Hiring Team, Chime has built something rare: a financial platform that millions of everyday Americans genuinely trust to help them manage their money and make progress toward real goals. That mission — democratizing financial progress through technology that is helpful, transparent, and easy to use — is one I have been working toward from a different angle for the past year as founder of Fintellect AI, a mobile-first AI financial education and investing platform built specifically to empower retail investors with guided journeys, real-time market insights, and context-aware advisory interactions. I am now ready to bring that founder-level conviction, combined with 12+ years of platform and product leadership, to a team operating at Chime's scale. **Technical and AI Foundation** My AI work is hands-on and production-grade, not theoretical. At Fintellect AI, I architected a RAG retrieval pipeline with a ChromaDB vector store, multi-provider LLM orchestration across Claude, GPT-4, and Gemini with fallback routing, structured output validation, and token budget optimization — all in service of delivering personalized, context-aware financial guidance to mobile users. I built domain-specific conversational agents scoped to distinct financial focal points, and integrated LLM-powered charting and macroeconomic analysis tools for automated trade analysis. These are exactly the kinds of AI-powered personalization and recommendation systems the Chime role centers on. At StreamIO AI, I implemented the OpenClaw multi-agent orchestration framework — a gateway protocol with subagent delegation, profile management, and session switching — enabling coordinated AI agent workflows across multiple industry verticals including financial markets. I also built a production evaluation platform (aeval) with five core eval types, adversarial safety testing with refusal detection, bootstrap confidence intervals, Welch's t-test, and Cohen's d effect sizing — because shipping AI responsibly requires rigorous measurement, not just fast iteration. My ML research roots go back further: a NeurIPS 2014 paper on neural networks for protein structure prediction, and a 2026 rewrite of that original system now spanning 413 parameters to 8B (a 19-million-fold scale increase), with PyTorch, MLflow, Optuna HPO, and FastAPI serving. I hand-coded backpropagation through time in C++ in 2004. I benchmark GRPO, DPO, PPO, and nine other RL algorithms across TRL, VeRL, OpenRLHF, and NeMo RL today. That range — from first principles to production — gives me the technical fluency to partner credibly with Chime's data science and engineering teams. **Why This Role, Why Now** The arc of my career has moved steadily toward a single problem: how do you translate complex, data-rich systems into experiences that genuinely help people make better decisions? At Intuit I did this at infrastructure scale. At Fintellect I did it for retail investors. At Chime, the opportunity is to do it for millions of members who have already shared their transaction history, spending patterns, and financial goals — and who deserve AI that turns that trust into proactive, actionable insight. **Role-Specific Connection** What excites me most about this role is the 0→1 mandate paired with the long-term vision of AI becoming ambient and native across the entire Chime experience — not a standalone feature but something woven into every member journey. I have built products from zero to launch in both startup and enterprise contexts, and I understand the discipline required to prove product-market fit before scaling. The emphasis on trust and transparency in AI behavior also resonates deeply: my aeval platform was built precisely because I believe you cannot ship AI responsibly without rigorous safety gates and interpretable metrics, and that same standard belongs in a consumer fintech product that members rely on for their financial lives. **Selected Relevant Experience** - **Fintellect AI:** Architected RAG retrieval pipeline with ChromaDB, multi-provider LLM orchestration (Claude, GPT-4, Gemini) with fallback routing, and domain-specific conversational agents delivering context-aware financial advisory interactions on mobile and web — a direct analog to Chime's personalized, proactive member insights vision. - **Fintellect AI:** Built AI-powered charting and macroeconomic analysis tools for asset class selection, execution planning, and risk management; led App Store launch and customer discovery, iterating the platform based on trader feedback. - **Intuit (Staff PM):** Achieved 275% YoY growth in ICE engagements, scaling to 675M+ in FY23 across QuickBooks, TurboTax, Mint, Mailchimp, and Credit Karma; scaled throughput from 6K to 50K TPS via rSocket migration supporting ~1.5M concurrent connections with sub-25ms TP99 — demonstrating the ability to own product strategy at consumer scale. - **Intuit (Staff PM):** Delivered ICE Self-Service platform (DevPortal, GitOps config, ICE Playground), reducing developer onboarding from 2–3 weeks to minutes in pre-prod and under 24 hours for production, while mitigating $1M+ in projected opex growth — a 0→1 platform product shipped end-to-end. - **Intuit (Staff PM):** Worked closely with telemetry and usage data (SQL, BigQuery) to prioritize developer pain points across ~20 mobile apps and 30+ product SKUs, and implemented ICE Presence in async chat, generating $480K/month in additional invoicing. - **aeval (AI Evaluation Platform):** Built local-first model evaluation platform with adversarial safety testing, refusal detection, statistical rigor (bootstrap CIs, Welch's t-test, Cohen's d), and automated safety gates — establishing the measurement infrastructure that responsible AI product development requires. - **Splunk (Senior PM):** Designed repeatable RICE-based prioritization framework for three microservice backlogs, balancing internal partner, third-party developer, and Fortune 500 customer requirements — directly applicable to Chime's multi-stakeholder prioritization environment. **Closing** Chime's mission — helping everyday Americans unlock financial progress — is not abstract to me. I built Fintellect AI because I believed retail investors deserved the same quality of personalized financial guidance that institutional clients receive. Chime has the member relationships, the data, and now the AI capabilities to deliver that at a scale no startup can match. I want to help build the product layer that makes it real. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background maps to what you are building. Sincerely, **O. Felix Amoruwa** famoruwa@berkeley.edu | 909-731-9011 | felixamoruwa.info
